I am fascinated with paint - how it takes on its own personality, how it flows, how it attracts or repels, how unique each and every canvas becomes.  I guide the paint, but I never completely control how it comes together.

I have greatly admired many artists, including my infamous uncle, Jim Beaman.  But being self-taught I have my own unique, or maybe not so unique, techniques that I have not learned by schooling, but by experimentation.  I start with colors, bold or bright, with a specific idea in mind.  Once the colors are being layered, though, the piece may sometimes take on something completely different than I envisioned.  I let it happen and let it be.

My artmaking is spontaneous and I am completely in the present moment.  The process takes me back to simpler, childlike times with no worries or cares.  Just simply being creative.  Just simply having fun.  Just simply from the heart!
